UPDATE on 29/05/2013:


On 28th May 2013 at 7.30PM, Mr Sathya Narayanan, Deputy Manager of Daikin, Chennai along with UM Associates Service Head Mr RajaSimman came to my home to inquire about my issue and they promised me that the issue will be resolved today.  he told that the AC has to be vacuumed before installing which was not done by the unauthorized technician Nandha. Of course today, Mr RamaKrishnan , Service Engineer came along with 2 technicians. They checked everything and found everything seems to be normal. Finally they vacuumed the A/C and found good improvement in the cooling efficiency. I ve told Ramakrishnan that let the AC be in my observation for 2 days and will give my feedback. Now I feel the difference in cooling.But Let me wait for 2 more days.

For the Consumers. if you are planning to buy Daikin AC, Please follow the steps to install.


1)  Call the customer care and inform your AC details, so that they will map your details with A/C serial no. Also check inquire about the installation process.


2) Make sure the Authorized person steps in for installation. Ask him for any id whether he is from direct Daikin or from its distributors. If anyone comes apart from these two. Then Call the customer care and  inform immediately. DO NOT LET HIM TO INSTALL YOUR AC.


3) Since DAIKIN doesn't provide Copper tube wire, we need to buy it. No need to worry, the technician will buy for us and we just need to pay for it. Along with Copper tube, we also need to buy 3 core wire.  So please get the BILL for the same from the technician. Daikin does not encourage to pay the money to technicians without bill.


4) Even though its a new AC, the AC has to be vaccumized before installation. Vaccumize is a process cleaning the entire ac for minimum of 45 mins before installation. Please Make Sure the engineer does this. because this will affect your AC's performance.


5) Make sure to get the Installation/Service Completion Report from the engineer without fail.


Hi, This is Prabhu from Chennai. I have bought a daikin AC FTE50NVR16 from Chandra Traders, Selaiyur on 12th May 2013. The dealer delivered the ac on 13th May 2013. On 14th May, A guy named "NANDHA" called me and told that he was allotted for installing my ac. I have asked that Guy to come on 15th may since I was in office that time. On 15th May, that guy came and estimated a cost of 3030 for installation Kit which includes 2.5m of Copper wire (2.5m X Rs 650), 8m of 3 core cable (8m X Rs 85) and A/C stand (Rs 750).  i have paid that guy to buy all those materials.


When he was back, I have asked that guy about the bill for the materials, he said that he did not get the Bill. and also he said he would come tomorrow for an installation near this area, so while coming tomorrow he would give me the bill. Somehow that guy installed the AC and I ve paid another 1000Rs for the installation. He did not give any bill for that also, actually he did not have one.


I have asked that guy whether I need to sign on anything for the installation. He said not needed and he shared his number and told if you get any problem, do call me, I am the in charge for the Tambaram area. On 16th May, I called that guy and asked for the bill, he said, I will come tomorrow. Whenever I call him, he said will come tomorrow.


For the first 4 days, I was fine and ac was working like a charm. The problem started on 21st May night, I turned on the AC on 8:30PM and after 30mins, I’ve started feeling the sultry and I found that there was no chillness effect was coming from the AC. It was just the FAN, that was running for the last 30 mins instead of getting cool.. The Next day i.e 22nd May, we called that guy Nandha for almost 30-40 times, he did not pick the call. Then we placed a complaint at Daikin Customer Care, As usual, they said, it will be addressed in 24 hrs.


That night, we have noticed one another issue i.e. the green light in the AC started Blinking continuously. On 23rd May, as usual we did not get any call from daikin customer care. So we called that CC again. They gave me a number to contact which was nothing but the Number of Daikin Chennai Office from Teynampet. I’ve spoke to the guy Ramakrishan, and he inquired about the installation process, when I said about Nandha, he said, we don’t know anyone as Nandha. He had also told that they don’t have their own service engineers, but they have a tie up with a company called UM Associates.


Then Ramakrishna contacted the Chandra Traders and found that guy was sent by them to install since the UM Associates would take 2 or 3 days to install. When Ramakrishna spoke to Nandha, Nandha told that he will not attend this issue. I know the reason because if he has to come to my home, he should come with the bill. So he avoided it. That day also the AC did not work.


On 24th I have again called Ramakrishna and asked about the status. He told that he had a clash with Nandha and he asked me to talk to his Manager Mr.Sathya Narayan. I have called the Manager and explained him the full story and he immediately contacted Service Head of UM associates Mr Rajasimman and he told that definitely my issue will be addressed tonight. On that Night, an authorized person Mr Bijju has come to home and he checked Voltage, Gas, and so and so.


Then he called His Manager Rajasimman and told “Sir, this is the same model and we have the same problem” It seems  that evening he had attended a customer who has the same model FTE50NVR16 (bought 4 days before) had the same problem, he had taken their A/C ic board to send it to head office to see whether the board has any problem or not. It looks like this specific model has some problem. Bijju told us to wait for 2 more days and let him know our observation on the AC so that they will continue to follow up on 27th May. AND EVEN NOW MY AC IS NOT WORKING…
