Due to the Corona Virus, one of my employees had to relocate to a place near Karungal in Kanya Kumari Dist. in South Tamil Nadu to do work from home. He found out about Dwan Net and their franchisee operation in providing Fibernet services in his locality. He subscribed for their services by paying money for laying a cable for half a kilo meter. My employee and myself have had the worst possible fibernet service in our lives. Within the first 3-4 weeks, we have had frequent shut-downs and our service capability to our customer has been in shambles. They were shutting down the service completely unannounced. Now today(2nd June, 2020), they did provide a 10 minute advance notice for an expected 30 min shutdown at about 11.15 AM. For the past 4 hours or so, we are waiting for the connection to be restored.
While speaking to Dwan Net, they keep blaming Libu Cable Network who are the local franchisees. Ultimately we as customers are suffering. Dwan provides the bandwidth through Airtel to Libu Cable service and Libu do the local last mile distribution. Either Libu do not have the technical infrastructure and capability to run a Fibernet Service or the whole end to end accountability is missing - we do not know. But the service sucks. I would recommend anyone wanting a Fibernet service in that area to avoid this service provider. Dwan Net states that their service in Kerala is good. I cannot vouch. However, based on my experience I can state that the service - end to end is absolutely rubbish. Difficult to conclude who is responsible. If Dwan Net are good with their core service, they are bad in evaluating local franchisees and fixing complete accountability. Which any way means they are not interested in providing 100% up time and good quality service.
