I bought this router last week from amazon.
Pros:
Build quality is fine.
Give good coverage with 2.4GHz band.
Cons:
Poor WLAN coverage in 5GHz band. Distance between router and bed room may be 60ft with on wall in between.
DHCP server seem to be having issues in allocating IP to laptop connected to LAN port. I have to do multiple lease renew to get IP allocated.
This does not work with PPOE esp with YOU Broadband. After lots of difficulties internet connection was up over PPOE., but when power got recycled., the connectivity dropped and I was never able to get this connected over internet.
Though default MAC option was selected., it was giving a wrong MAC in device status page. So looks like a bug.
There is no way of debugging. There is SYSLOG generated.
Time sync using NTP does not work.
UI looks very bad when you want to setup system manually. Labels and text input boxes are misaligned. I use chrome latest browser.
Even WLAN connectivity was not going through some times even after giving correct WPA password.
When contacted D-Link support, they gave me a patch. I applied still it could not connect to internet.
There is no way of initiating a PING from the device to public IP.
MAC cloning feature is quite confusing.
No way of adding additional management user. Though the UI allows you to enter new user with admin priviledge, there is no ADD button. But it has modify button.
Overall, it appears that this router is a very flaky/buggy router which D-LINK has launched just to support 802.11ac protocol. I have returned this router to get a N300. I am quite disappointed with quality of this router.
