We received a call from a lady named 'leema' who stated that we had won a prize based on a lucky dip conducted in shopping mall. Stated that she is part of big bazaar & mantri mall division and they are currently giving us 25k travel vouchers, kitchen set and surprise gift worth 4000 rs. We clearly asked her what is the catch to this? Do we need to purchase anything? Is this a marketing strategy? She denied everything and said all you need to do is please come, state your name and collect your prizes and you can be done for the day. Since we were in the vicinity and thinking that this was true decided to drop in.
Firstly the sms that she sent to us with the address had sarjapur resort. There was nothing by the name of sarjapur resort and on searching we finally found the place in country club. On seeing the name, we thought it must be 'trustworthy'as it was held in country club. But we were asked to come to basement. Suddenly the rep says that we have to attend a one hour presentation. On being asked for details nothing was given. On speaking to the initial lady who had called- leema , she said just sit for 30 mins and collect the gift and leave as they are explaining about the gift. This is clearly a false marketing strategy.
Pls do not be cheated. Leave the place immediately. Unfortunately we went in, we were surprised that the marketing rep started asking very personal questions that was nowhere on his form and no where related to the product. We got to know its country vacations and knew it to be a complete scam!. We left the place immediately , thankfully had the better sense not to be duped. We will be taking this forward for all the time wasted and duping innocent people . Country vacations please be straight forward in your marketing calls and do not cheat people like this. We are taking this seriously. The head of the marketing division in Bangalore is rajesh has advised us to take this to court.
