Respect A Members Point Of View. Review on Commenting on Reviews

I consider writing my 401th review a milestone.

I have noticed that many of you rate a review, and leave a comment, on agreement or disagreement:

MouthShut is a consumer based site. A member has a right to write about any topic.

Some members write long reviews, while others write shorter ones. Each is valuable if you read them.

A member has their right to state their opinion. When you rate a review, it is not up to you to try and change their minds. Ratings should be done on how well a review is written, not if you agree or disagree.

How It All Began:

I began writing here on January 4th, 2002. ppotter, (Pam), invited me to join this site.

My First review was on Edmonton, the capital city of Edmonton. 35 members rated it, and only 7 left a comment. They were Rohan, (i4net), Rahul, (loverboy4u_17), swanand and Mrs. Media. I didn't know at that time members left comments, and I just replied to ee00224, recently.

It wasn't until the 3rd day that I began to leave comments. I use to think that a shorter review wasn't worth reading and rated them U.

Then I began reading PROFBBOHANTY's reviews, (he has written more reviews than I have), Dr.Shafique, Dr.Claw and mohanR's reviews. They had a lot to say and I love reading their reviews, and try and leave them a comment, because so many members rate their reviews low.

363 members trust me now, but at first there were only a few. ppotter/Pam, Cousin/my real Cousin Sharon and Venchasa, trusted me the first day, but none of them left comments. The next day pete, (from Canada), wunderboy, vimal_kalyan and Tracy/tabyorky added me to their list. Most of them rate reviews but didn't leave comments, then.

Comments Help You Make Friends:

Abbey/abababbey, Tracy/tabyorky and jilmil, Pam/potter, Leah/meleahk1 and Cousin/Sharon and I became friends through MouthShut. We e-mail, (using our real e-mail's), each other often.

MouthShut Changed:

When the War in Iraq began, everything changed on this site. Members took sides and didn't rate fair. They left terrible comments on members reviews, and I even had horrible emails sent to me.

That is when I stopped leaving a lot of comments.

Today

I have read and rated 20, 947 reviews, but only commented on 7147.

I know how important comments are, but I'm so busy these days, I only leave them to welcome a new member, or when I rate some review lower than MH. I leave comments on reviews when I have time. I know that the older members here know my MH rating is a comment.

I hope you know that when I rate your review MH, I'm telling you that it was most helpful.

I know that this is a short review, but I hope that it explains why I don't leave too many comments any more.
