I would request prospective members to check out their policies before becoming a member.


I am a CM(Red Studio)member since 1999.


As of now we pay a hefty amount(highest in the country) to become a member impressed by their rosy pics being presented by their sales team but ground realties are quite different.


You may get the free holidays before you become the member at any place and any time you wish for but once you are hooked I challenge you to book a resort of your choice at dates suitable to you. Reason being they now have many more members than they have the rooms. Just ask their executives the number of members already enrolled in the season you are interested in and the number of room nights available with them. From those available nights I would suggest that you remove the resorts where you are most unlikely to visit(would vary from person to person) and there you'll have the probability of getting your booking done.


I have tried many a times to get the resorts booked for the place and dates convenient but could never got the same. They would say bookings open 6 months in advance but who plans their holidays 6 months in advance, that too every time? Believe me I tried even 2 months before and could never got the place/dates I am interested in and I am talking about the holidays in the season for which I am entitled.For example you want Shimla in May and they will offer Asthamudi in June, yes you have to plan as per their roomavailabilityand not as per your or your kids holiday schedule. Even then its notcompulsorythat you'll get all the days at stretch meaning they'll give you room from 2nd till 4th and then 6h to 8th and you can pitch the tents outside with your family on 5th:)


Then again they have very cleverly combined the Annual Maintenance Charges and the Utility charges(misc. charges for the electricity and water you use during stay) in AnnualSubscriptionFees(ASF). To top it this ASF is not dependent on the actual maintenance charges incurredbut is linked to some consumer index which keeps on increasing every year by 7-8% at least. Now if you don't get the holidays of your choice no worries you can accumulate upto 21 days in your inventory but beware after 21 days even if they are unable to provide the booking you'll still lose the days despite paying full membership and ASF charges. So they'll make you pay even when they can't provide the holidays(no guarantees or compensation policy on that) and even though ASF includes the utility component too, they will not reimburse the same even after forfeiting the excess days.So its head they win and tails they win and member loses every time.


I am in the process to drag them in the consumer forum for the said policies which are totally one sided favoring only the company with no recourse/remedy for the members. I would also request fellow members who have faced the similar situation to join hand so that together we can file a class suite against them and let themrealizethey fool us once but can't take us all for a ride.forever.
