We went to Corbett two years ago and have been Club Mahindra White Studio Members for five years. We have come to a stage where we have started associating Club Mahindra's resorts with certain services that no other hotels match up to - even the best associate hotels of Club Mahindra. And I being the lover of the wildlife, I simply loved Corbett.
They have all the basics right. Nice, comfortable room with a kitchenette; a swimming pool, the spa and the greenery all around. What I loved most was Kosi river which we could see from our balcony and bedroom windows.
Being a White Studio member doesn't always allow us to get a room in the peak season but we are good planners and regular travellers. So, we managed to make it to Corbett before the national park closes due to monsoons. If you are a wildlife freak like me, you simply can't rate Corbett down. Our guides there - the forest department officials - were fantastic too.
We not always eat at CM and like to try local flavors. Luckily, this resort has quite a few eateries nearby which we loved. Although, the food they served was a little average type and lacked much variety. Perhaps that was because the peak season was about to be over and they were cutting down on services they provide.
On the last day, we saw our gentle Kosi turn into a mighty angry river due to rains. We heard that the block in which we were staying had to be evacuated. Thankfully, we had already left the room and was waiting for our pickup to arrive.
It's nice, comfortable, and safe. A great place to stay if you have kids with you.
