I did part-payment for a hotel booking recently. When I checked with the hotel directly, ClearTrip's rates were 1.5 times higher and I decided to cancel the booking. To my disbelief, I was told that my entire part-payment will be forfeited.
As per their cancellation policy, Rs 300/- is the cancellation charges. But, the customer service guy says that the entire part-payment will not be refunded. This is not mentioned anywhere in their FAQ and also, not informed while making the part-payment.
This amounts to cheating. Please avoid ClearTrip at any cost.
Just use it to read the reviews, ratings and call up the hotel/flight/package operator on your own. I'm sure that the rates will be much cheaper. Then, decide on your own and have a happy trip!
