Don't use it for booking hotels, very risky. Review on Cleartrip

I recently booked a resort in Wayanad for the upcoming long weekend. As expected all decent accommodations were running out fast for the time being a peak season and I managed to book one through Cleartrip though there were several other options as there was a deal. Booked my bus tickets and was happy and relaxed for 1 week when I got a call from from an agent 6 days after I booked it saying that the booking didn't go through. The guy was offering me alternate accommodation.

1. 1st accommodation being 30kms away from where I wanted to book.

   
   




2. 2nd accommodation was cheaper in both quality and price(with no discussion on refunding the price difference)

   
   

Only after I checked the price online and told the same to the person,  he was ready to return the refund after checking with the marketing team(Give the marketing team a nobel for that).

1. 3rd option - Not much different from 2nd option, slightly better but still cheaper.

My concern is that they are completely into profit making without any concern for customers. Let the customer rather cancel the trip, we cannot compromise our profit margin. Profit making is not a sin, but it is if you are cheating your customer. Had this company been anywhere in a developed country, it would have been shut down by now.

Last but not the least- the website says 24/7 customer support. But not sure what this means in their dictionary. Stay away from this hopeless place if you can. I wish I had read the reviews before making my booking.
