We purchased a new Volkswagen car after which we got a call from Citrus hotel, Bangalore offering a free lunch for a couple. As the sayng goes "there is no such thing as free lunch" we were given a presentation about the "citrus Holiday ownership" plan.
The skillful marketing folks somehow convinced us for the booking stating that we can cancel it anytime within 15 days. Hence we made a potion of the payment and booked it; however after further analysis and discussions we decided that this plan was not only too expensive for us(4 lakhs for 10yrs) it wasn't going to be that useful for us considering their chain of hotels was very limited.
Now comes the real pain: when we wanted to cancel they forced me to meet their region head "Mr Javalinga Babu" for another round of discussion(our 3rd round) and give solid reason as to why we want to cancel. As a consumer I don't think I'm entitled to explain myself to anyone. But I still attempted to explain myself stating I had financial issues and that I'll think about it in the coming months, to which Mr Babu said that he doesn't trust us that we'll come back and that things don't work this way.
Be careful of this guy, he will make you feel that he is some big shot who is doing you a favor by talking to you. His attitude is like YOU MUST AGREE WITH ME AND BUY WHATEVER I AM SELLING, ELSE YOU DON'T HAVE THE CLASS. Anyways we somehow managed to get our membership cancelled after getting few comments from Mr Babu such as'we were the wrong people he wasted his time on' even though no one actually asked for his precious time. And remember it's his time ONLY that's precious not ours even though we are the one who is paying here.
So be careful, don't fall in to the trap, read the T&C carefully. Book it only after reading all the reviews and yes cancellation is not that easy.
