Awesome!. Review on Cidade de Beach Resort, Goa

We visited Goa in August and spent a week at Cidade.This hotel seemed to be the best choice when I browsed through the internet for the best hotels in Goa.The best part of this hotel is that it has a very well maintained and neat private beach and that was what dragged me into booking a 6 nights 7 days package through yatra.com.The package cost me and my husband 32000/- which included all 3 meals /shuttle to the market place daily /one day sightseeing /complimentary entry to casino / use of all indoor games facilities and swimming pool etc etc which was more than enough for us considering the fact that it was meant to be a honeymoon trip.

When we arrived at the Goa airport we were received by the very courteous Cidade staff and taken to the hotel via A/C coach in which we were offered mineral water which I thought was a very customer friendly gesture.The drive was for 45 minutes and we realised that it was a bit cut off from the main city.

When we reached there we were greeted well by the staff there.One of the attendants quickly sat down with us to explain us all the amenities that would be provided to us both with and without charges which I think is a very good practice e as most of the hotels just hand you the keys and attach a bell boy along without providing any info.Here we were seated properly...attended to...and even served their custom welcome drink and made comfortable.She informed us about the dining and lunch areas where we could have our lunches..the complimentary facilities and how and when we could avail them etc.

There are 3 kinds of rooms available which is mentioned on the website too..Premium/superior and deluxe.Superior rooms offer a view of the sea while premium rooms have a balcony attached and these two kinds of rooms are located on the first or second floors.We had chosen the deluxe room as it was attached to the beach.

When we were shown our room..I cannot describe the happiness I felt.It was toooo good for words...interiors very tastefully done..best part was that there was a balcony with a wooden swing..steps from the balcony directly led to the private beach which was an magnificient sight.Even those 7 days didnt seem enough for us...it was just a seconds affair..running barefoot to the beach and having fun without bothering about hooligans/dirty surroundings/whos watching whos not kind of a feeling as the crowd was pretty decent and all of them do not come at the same time.So its almost like having the entire beach to yourself.Collecting shells was a part of my daily routine not to mention the walks and all that.

It rained heavily in Goa all the days that we were there still we didnt get bored even for a moment.All kinds of indoor games were made available to the guests and we became die hard fans of playing scrabble there.TT table , badminton court , basketball nets , beach football facilities , carrom , snooker ..you name it they have it! Not to mention the swimming cool which is one of the nestest I have ever seen.They have a seperate pool for kids and adults which is a very common sight.The swimming pool overlooks the coconut trees and the sea which makes it an even more refreshing affair.The hotel activities are very nicely planned...everyday there was some snooker competition/carroms/basketball.beach football comeptitions and even otherwise we made friends with quite a number of people as we were regular visitors at all the games.Every day the activity sheet is displayed on the notice board.

During the evening times..they have either the piano man playing peoples requests  (It was was an absolute treat to watch him play the piano so easily and mesmerise the guests with his music).On a few days there was this female singer who sanfd good english songs in the bar and common area.Every good place in the hotel overlooked the sea..so the music and the pleasant sight added to the experience.

There was a movie theatre / home theatre kind of a thing too which played movies baed on the popular choice of the guests there.In case you are interested to wathc movies in the room...they had that facility too as a dvd player was provided.

Coming to the food, ..it was simply great!The buffey has a good variety just sufficient to satisfy anyone..the cakes that they serve are the best ...Whatever I write about their meals and breakfasts would be less but in just one word they are worth every penny that you pay.

Coming to the customer service I dont think any other staff can be more hospitable than that of Cidade.There is no distinction between package tourists and normal ones.Everyone is attended to with all respect and I found them a highly motivated staff.

In short in all aspects this hotel is one of the best especially when you have kids to holiday with or are planning to go for a family  holiday!
