IFB Dishwasher Zephrynx : IFB Customer Care Sucks

I purchased an IFB Dishwasher in Aug 2008 for Rs 27, 000 and have had a mixed experience.


Plus Points:




  1. Dishes get cleaned fantastically. Never seen my dishes(including spoons with some engraving) shining so much




  2. It cleans up even those parts of the vessels which are hard to reach, Eg: the part of the Pressure Cooker where the whistle is attached, the steel strainers stained with tea marks dried up, Melamine plates stained with turmeric etc(To get this results use setting 6: 60degrees "Daily")




  3. Glass, ceramics & china get cleaned really well, without getting any scratches, which is usually the case in hand washing




  4. All vessels get dried as well, though if water gets stuck in some vessels in their crevices, you may need to take extra care while taking out the vessels, to ensure the water does not spill on to the other vessels & they don't get wet






Minus Points:


Minuses are not with the product per-se, but with IFB Customer Care.


I had read some reviews before buying the Dishwasher and was aware that the supplies of the 4 products reqd, namely: Dishwasher Detergent, Dishwasher Salt, Rinse Aid & Dishwasher Freshner are available only thru the IFB Customer Care, but had not understood how difficult a simple thing like this could be.


The IFB Customer Care & After Sales Service is the lousiest & most inefficient of all.


I have ordered my supplies 3 times since I've bought the Dishwasher(always buy in bulk. read on and u'll know why)


Each time I have to constantly follow up with the customer care for about atleast 2 weeks(and that means about 1-2 calls each day), call up all their various people in Karnataka(Area Manager & God knows who all) before the supplies are delivered.


Don't be too happy if the Call Centre people tell you "Your supplies will be delivered within 24 hrs" becoz they say that each time you call them.(looks like this is all the training they get . to say this line) but it never does get done in 24 hrs! No one from the IFB Customer Care will bother following up to ensure that the delivery happens. Its as if no one in IFB has this on their KRA. Neither the call centre, nor their Area Manager, nor the Dealer who's actually supposed to get a commission on the sales! Worst thing is if you are regularly following up with the call centre, the supervisors & team leads will after 2 calls stop attending to your calls as well and each time you'll have to repeat your requirement all over again.


For this reason and only this I would NOT RECOMMEND anyone to buy the IFB dishwasher. Coz afterall what do you do with just the dishwasher if you don't have the detergent etc to wash the vessels with!


A Dishwasher, though not very popular in India yet, is a fantastic buy. so.Buy any other brand Dishwasher available. Coz most other brands Customer Service & after sales support are quite decent. Its only IFB which sucks.
