Oops, I did it again!!!. Review on Choosing Gifts for a Mother

Yes, I made a blunder and No I didn't do anything naughty as you might be thinking!!

This was the second consecutive year that* I forgot my mom's birthday!!!* Like practically everyday of my life, on this day, I was late for the school bus again!! Mom was standing right there, trying to make me drink a glass of milk...but my little brain didn't get the signal that it was her BIRTHDAY!!! So, I ran to my bus, completely forgetting to wish her.

At school, when I was trying to keep my eyes open in a booooring Chemistry lesson, a bulb ( like the ones in cartoons!) just popped above my head, and I Screamed at the top of my lungs, ''Oh My GOD!!!!!!'' By this time, the little doubts that my friends had about my sanity were wiped out...cuz now they were SURE that I was mentally unstable!!! After getting a glare from the teacher, I sat down in the farthest corner of the class, and began making a list...

1. Gift!

The shops are not far from my house, so I decided to go shopping after school. After roaming around fruitlessly for an hour or so, I came across a most beautiful scarf, which came accompanied by a marvellous set of earrings. I couldn't resist getting my hands on them. The gift left me half as ''rich'' as I was, but then, My mom is worth a LOT more, so I bought it! After buying this gift, I came across some other really nice gifts too, like watches, cosmetic kits, jewellery, booksetc...But I had to use my will power and not spend anymore on a gift!

2. Card

Every year I make mom's card by hand...but since this year the ''bulb'' had switched on a bit late, I decided to go buy a card. I looked for hours trying to find the perfect card!! Finally, the one that I found was a cute little thing that told my mom how special she was to me and that there was no one in the world more precious than she is! I loved this card, cuz I felt that through it I could really express how I felt about her! A sensitive card, which expresses true feelings, is very necessary! I spent hours trying to find it, but the time was well-spent cuz I found a card with deep meaning and not just some dry ''happy birthday mom'' one! So, DO spend time looking for a nice card! Its more important than you would think!

3. Cake

Ok, now deciding this was the hardest thing ever! My friends call me a ''Walking-Disaster'', so trying to bake a cake would be suicide!! Try to do this if you're ABSOLUTELY sure of ur capabilities as a cook ( and don't have the tendency do burn down the house if you try it!!). Other wise, for people like me, there are a million cakes in the market. But wait! Don't just buy a cake and place it on the table...nope, that?s not too nice! Make sure that you personalize the cake by placing it in a decorative nice dish and get a shiny knife (maybe tie a ribbon or something on it) and place it next to the cake. If the cake does not have icing, maybe you could try doing it yourself (you can buy the icing cones in the market) and write your mom some message on her cake. Bet she would love that!!!

Well, I did all these things for my mom and believe it or not, she forgave me for forgetting her birthday for the second time in a row!! I think, the best gift to a Mom would be You expressing how special she is in your life!! Well, at least after all this, I?ll never forget my mom?s birthday again! Happy Birthday Mom!!
