The best gift to give yourself.. Review on Choosing Gifts for a Best Friend

As an only child I have always loved to surround myself with my friends. I have, luckily enough, a brilliant support system, and friends who I can call on at any point.

Now personally I believe in giving people thoughtful meaningful gifts: something that shows that you care as well as pay attention to the other persons needs. A nother good thing to remember is to give something that you've always wanted, or have and love, so you want to share it with someone else. But remeber this only works when you're friend likes the same things you do.

So instead of reccomending what to buy, i'll tell you some of the things I've given my friends and hope it helps!

I have this one friend who can identify almost any osng I've sung, down to obscure Broadway numbers which we both loved. So, on her last birthday, I compiled a c.d collection of Broadway numbers, out of some of the stuff I had. She loved it, and I'm so glad I made the effort because she died soon after.

Homemade prezzies are also a good gift. I gave my boyfriend a scrapbook which I made myself, of our favourite song lyrics, personal jokes and love letters, for an anniversary.Another friend of mine gives handpainted frames around treasured photo's of her and her friends. A cake is also a good idea, especially if you're going to a birthday party.

I love giving favourite books to people as well. I read a lot, so its always fun to share that with others. Also, one year I gave my best friend a journal, and she loved having it around, especially since it was a very eventful year!

Asides from all that, when I just can't think of what to give a person, I give them my time. I take them out for a meal or a drink, and this is fun especially with friends you haven't seen in a while.

But for ** just-for-kicks presents, I give homemade cards, bits of poetry I have read or written, cookies, a flower, small stuff. Coz ultimately, as a friend, you like to know you're loved.
