First of all I have to thank all mouthshut.com reviewers for their honest reviews about spark which helped me to choose the best car in the segment.
This is our first car which will be driven mostly by my father. We were in dilemma to choose among Alto, spark, santro, tata vista. At the end we narrowed to santro eco and spark lpg. I wasnt comfortable with the lpg kit of santro & convinced my father & brother for spark lpg LS varient. We booked spark lpg platinum metallic at sumitra motors Vijayawada. After 5 days they claimed they cant deliver LS variant as it may take 2 months.
I asked us to take PS lpg which I m not at all happy. But my father was very concerned about lpg because of its economy, but the usage of the car will be not more than 20kms per day & occasional long trip, so I did some math & found that petrol itself is OK instead of paying 38k more to get lpg.
Atlast we decided with spark LS blazing red & went for it. Spark looks amazing with blazing red. Interiors are spacious enough for 4 and kind of ok for 5 if its a short trip. The dealer provided freebies like floor mats, rear spoilers, painted body colour door handles & rear view mirrors, remote locking & charged xtra 2.5k for roof rails. I was happy with the deal for on road price of 3.42 lacs for spark LS (non lpg).
My home town Srikalahasthi is 390 kms from GM dealer (Vijayawada), so it was a long drive as well as a good opportunity to know the vehicle in the initial days itself, We split into three to drive the vehicle all the way. we drove with a consistent speed of 80 with no AC & almost zero clutch & the result is 20.83 kmpl (measured by top to top filling up to the lid), thats really an amazing mileage for a very brand new car. We all were very happy with the figure but I was suspicious & fill the tank again after 100 km & found almost same result.. la la la...... I guess GM had made some changes in the engine to improve mileage at the cost of some power but its always OK when its economical & unnoticable change in the pick up.
I hope this is the best car one can get with 3.4 lacs budget with so much roomy, economical, very comfortable driving pleasure. I bought a music system for exact 10k, fitted by the dealer itself & we enjoyed the whole ride with the couple of CD's provided by GM & delicious choclate box & chevy doll made our journey bit funny.
Still few accessories needed to be added like seat cover, steering cover, sunfilm & suggest me if anything more.
I will update further about some cons if I find further....
