No, No Rajamouly. Review on Chatrapathi Movie

Sye was a wonderful and intelligent film, always wondered why it did not get the response it should have. I could never put my finger on that movie as to why it did not run. After watching this movie I was eagerly waiting to see this S S RAJAMOULY's film, was more eager as it was a Prabhas film, his Varsham was quite impressive.

Chatrapthi was a total wash out. Total disappointment. The two and half hours were spent by squirming in my seat, wanting to just walk out of the theatre.

The basic plot of the film did not have any ground, unbelievable. Refugees from Srilanka at Vizag. I dont know what happened to this intelligent film maker. The hero Prabhas was just a wooden frame in the whole movie. His acting was nothing to write about. Dancing not at all his forte. The heroine Shreya, well the director did not have anything for her to do, she was just another character without any base. All she had to do was dance with the hero, and alike other telugu movies, songs are inserted at regular intervals without any rhyme or reason. Aarthi Agarwal looks very bad in this movie. The basic characterization of the actors is very poor.

Even the music did not hold, it had shades of ilayaraja music.

The only plus factor was Bhanupriya, but wasted efforts and Venu Madhav's comedy is something which is light in this dark movie. Technicals are good, lot of efforts have been taken for it, but they cannot hold on because of the poor plot with lot of holes.

A total disappointing movie by an intelligent film maker!
