charminar the name itself tells char means 4 and minar is the tower.
it was constructed by the king Quli qutub shah.this structure was completed in 1954,
charminar is not just any built up structure, it have a historic resemblance. After shifting capital from Golkonda to Hyderabad he(Quli qutub shah) built a big structure of Charminar. Because of Charminar this landmark became a global icon of Hyderabad.The structure itself was intended to serve as a Mosque and Madraasa. It is of Indo-Islamic architecture style, incorporating Persian architectural elements.in islam the prayer call(adhaan) in ancient times were given from a height thats why very mosque have a minar and the same charminar also is a mosque. The city was spread around the Charminar in four different quadrants and chambers, seggregated according to the established settlements. Towards the north of Charminar is the Char Kaman, or four gateways, constructed in the cardinal directions.during ramzan and Eid-e-milaad un nabi the charminaar is beautifully decorated with green cloth and lights.during these days there will no place to walk as it becomes very busy place.people come for shoppping and to taste the delicious haleem .
