It was 11th August, 2008, my Younger Daughter Malaika Kirti (Mauli) was in very serious condition, suffering from Stevens Johnson Syndrome(SJS- A condition due to drug reaction), and was admitted to the Pediatric Emergency Ward of Trauma Centre, Chatrapati shahu Ji Mahraj Medical University, Lucknow. At that time she was 8 Years' old and was admitted to the Pediatric Emergency Ward of Trauma Centre, Chatrapati shahu Ji Mahraj Medical University, Lucknow on 5th August, 2008 with very high fever and boils all over body specially in throat and mouth.

Due to this she could neither speak nor eat. It was difficult to give any medicine because it could react. With Pediatricians advice she was given Immuno globulin Treatment. But on 8th august her fever had already reached near 106 degree F. But by 9th she had started showing improvement, but with boils inside the mouth and throat she could hardly smile. we were ready to pay anything  to fetch a smile on her face.

---- It was 6 Am in the morning, when we saw a hawker with News Papers and some magazines. I heard a very weak mumble...."mumpa". It just saw from where the sound came, it was my daughter Mauli who was just trying to say something. I came near her mouth and tried to understand what she wanted to say. She just showed the magazine "Champak" in Hawker's lap. I immediately realized what she wanted to say, because it was our childhood friend " Champak'. I immediately purchased the magazine,  and after a fortnight I saw smile on my daughter's face. It was as if I had found a treasure. Then all of us tried to narrate stories of Champak one by one to her, and she was very happy. Next Day I went to a news paper stall in Chowk and purchased all the issues of Champak available with him.

Since then where ever I go I try to purchase any issue of Champak for Mauli, and each time her smiling face on that morning comes in front of me. **==Please Keep giving smiles to Children of all generations.
