I said Casio fx 100w was for advanced usage but I also gave a hint for the new generation MS series Scientific Calculators. This is a awesome series with over 200 functions. The higher versions have 244, 300 and even 400 functions with equation calculations ability, then integration differentiation calculations and matrix/vector calculations. It doesn’t get any bigger than this. Imagine a calculator with Matrix/vector calculations. Of course this generation of calculators are expensive.

I don’t think any other company closer to it when it comes to scientific calculators. With so many functions it takes some time to learn. Even I did not know what was LR mode for until achougoo cleared it. I had used standard deviation mode SD i.e. for statistics subject in S.Y.BSc. Year. LR mode is there in basic fx 100d model. I had only heard of these advanced calculators and their prizes but got a chance to see it only when my cousin bought it. Let me tell you it’s a fantastic piece of machine for calculations. You can call it a super mini computer who does a bunch of calculations for you with in fraction of seconds.

Coming to this model of the family, it not that lagging behind. This version also has 200+ functions and all basic design and dimensions of that of 100s and 100w. A stylish design fits all features you need into an optimum or more appropriately ergonomic format that is very handy and easy to carry. The Calci fits in your hands comfortably and has a descent look. The case is slide on hard case like 100s. I always like sliding on cases or room doors for instance. They save a lot of space for me and are very stylish in look also.

The Display is two lines S.V.P.A.M., which has larger and more easily readable characters. S.V.P.A.M. stands for Super Visually Perfect Algebra method. These types of calculators let you input calculation formulas just as they are written like we do normally on papers. It lets you view expressions result at same time. I frankly didn’t know this until I read in the manual. I knew what two line display but this S.V.P.A.M stuff is simply great.

The Calci has a Auto Power Off, which switches of the Calci if not used for 3 minutes. That’s the secret behind long leaving power of Casio Calculators. It has standard mode system, which I won’t repeat again in this review. For all listing of modes starting from ENG to FIX you can read my previous two reviews on Casio FX 100w, and Casio FX 100s.

To highlight few features it has all standard Arithmetic Operations like Addition, Subtraction. You can also do Fraction calculations including decimal points. Percentage calculation becomes as easy as it is with normal calcies. Permutation & Combination calculations like calculation factorials of a positive integer. Also nCm and nPm calculations can also be done with it. Different modes are available for these calculations. The Standard and default mode is decimal and degree mode. For statistical operations you can switch on to SD mode and perform operation like calculating mean, median, and Standard deviation. Also LR mode is for calculating linear regression.

Degree, Minute and Seconds calculations can be done in degree mode. Also Radian RAD, Gradian GRA modes are available for working with radians and Gradians. The durability seems good with the immortal power of battery. To summarize quickly you have Base n Mode for binary to hexadecimal calculations. Also apart from standard memory 6 other sub memories are provided for storing these numbers. Overall this is a great piece of instrument just like 100 w and 100s. My opinion Go for IT!
