My friends in Chennai introduced me to this coffee joint called "MOCHA" at Nugambakkam Chennai. The first time when I visited Mocha, I was all ga-ga over it. The ambience, the seating, the hep crowd, the coffy and smoothies, and the well known Hookahs!!
It's a great place to go on a weekend, with your friends, where you can sit and chat for hours and hours. The place closes down by 1200 hrs.
Service is good, the stewards are nice and decent. I wonder how many Hookahs they gulp down while serving the guests!
Its actually an old building, which is being decorated with all green and red, and antique stuffs from arab to give the typical arab look. The seating is also being designed in the similar fashion.
If you want to sit outside and enjoy you cup of coffy, nothing better than that. But if you want to sit in the AC room and trust on me, you would die of suffocation..coz you would find smoke and smoke every where.... youngsters sitting and happily enjoying their puffs of hookah..
Coffee's are great and so are smoothies, the browny with icecream and chocolate sauce is amazing!! Menu is quite big with lotzza variations, although I found it difficult to select one out of the entire offerings.
The only thing which I did not like at MOCHA Nugambakkam is the washroom. It's neither clean and nor does, the toilet accessories work.. sad for such a well known place..
They have started another branch at Indira Nagar Adyar, and I visited this branch recently. I was expecting the same kind of ambiance and service, but I dint find it though.
To start with, its the seating, very uncomfirtable, I wonder how did they even think of designing such an arrangement, where all the couches are being joined, together. So if a person who is sitting on the first table wants to get up from his table, and move out , he has to make the guys sitting on the second table to get up from theirs first. Very conjusted!!!
Food, and service is nice, and the presentation is way too good! Kudos for that! They have divided the entire shop in two areas, smoking and non smoking. Non smoking at the ground floor, and smoking the first floor. But if you want to use the loo, you need to go to the first floor amidst all the smoke of the hookah and you will die of suffocation again!
Over all, Its a great place to hang out over a weekend, and enjoy with you friends with a cup of coffee or a Hookah :P
