Pay for the brand name, not product

Buying a SONY TV!!

Sony, perhaps the costliest consumer electronics in India at the moment. MNC Quality, MNC Price, unwantedly.

I don't suggest anybody to go for such brands.

Agreed that Sony CTVs have the best picture and sound quality but we pay very high for these, when its competitors provide almost the same, if not slightly negligibly less quality like Panasonic, Toshiba, Samsung etc. at lesser price.

Infact, not many of us know that Indian brands like Videocon pick up spares from MNCs like Samsung and assemble to market under their own brand name. I suggest we can blindly go for such brands. And the difference - atleast Rs.5000 to Rs. 7000 on the price!! Great deal after all.

And coming to the features, too many functions to confuse the customer. Tell me how many of us know each and every button provided on the Remote or on the TV. How many cable channels give signals that are stereo, crystal clear clarity, uninterrupted transmission etc. to exploit the features of your TV?

What is the use if your TV has Doby Stereo, DTS Sound, Picture-In-Picture, Child Lock, Games, Graphical Equalizers,Auto Noise Reduction, Auto Sound Leveller, Zoom In, Zoom Out, Blue Screen on channel interruption and what not. The list just goes on!! But how many of us are aware of these and their use? Who has the time to learn and use religiously these things to get most out of the TV? All for the mad ads?? - I would say Watch 'Programme Breaks' between Ad-Sessions.

I would strongly suggest - don't spend huge sums of money on costly electronic items that have very high depreciation value!! After all, who watches this Idiot Box regularly!! Even on occasions you watch, what do you expect - some timepass and entertainment. Then why shell out huge sums of money on brands like Sony?
