GUYS I'M REALLY SORRY TO BE VIOLATING THE RULES OF MOUTHSHUT (I THINK), BECAUSE I AM WRITING MY REVIEW ONCE AGAIN. ACTUALLY I HAD TO RECREATE MY ID HERE, FOR SOME PROBLEMS THAT KEPT OCCURRING!

PLEASE R.R.C THIS REVIEW ONCE AGAIN!!!!

THANKS!

“World mein do tarah ke log hote hain…ek who jo poori film lift karte hain, aur doosre jo poori movie original banate hain!”

Aap kaunsi category mein aate hain Shaad sahab?

Like any other movie buff and Amitabh Bacchan fan, even I had a blast watching the movie…but once I came out of the hall…everything went kaput! Just left me wondering…what kind of a movie was that?

Heartfelt apologies to Mr. Shaad Ali Sehgal to have presumed that Bunty aur Bubbly would be a close snitch of Sheldon’s famous IF TOMORROW COMES. My mistake. Had it been so, he might have been tore apart by the critique for a few days as the director of another lift, but at least people would have enjoyed the movie. If you have read the novel, you just cannot ignore one-fourth of the theme being “inspired” from the book anyway.

What came forth was a peppy-in-some-dragging-in-most-sequences film! So here was a film…with no traces of the SAATHIYA maker’s hangover! Where SAATHIYA was so crisply edited and narrated, BnB wasn’t even a shadow of it. Even though it was an official remake of Mani Ratnam’s ALAIPAYUTHEY!

Well, Bunty aur Bubbly Starts with a parallel running background of two small townies who ride on dream horses, and perhaps even have the right potential to go forward with them….only if their families would stop interfering. So with every rightful reason to escape from their villages, they go ahead to seek their dreams, only to realize that there is no place for small town simplicity anywhere. On one fateful night, the two meet and share each other’s experiences of the “big bad world”. Faced with harsh realities, the two decide to answer back these white collared goons their way – and so starts the big to bigger marathons of Bunty and Bubbly a.k.a Rakesh and Vimmi! Gareebon ka maseeha and youth ka inspiration! Wah wah!

Ok, so far so good.

But didn’t conscience strike Shaad once when he was miserably killing off the main essence of the film? The beauty of a movie like this should lie in the plan and development process of the thefts and con acting. The movie, very sorry to say, didn’t really elucidate on any of the thefts…except for the Airport and Taj Mahal episode. And that too quite loosely. Think about it, and you’ll know what I am talking about!

The director in his quest for going into too many unnecessary song and dance and dream sequences and shaadi-byah forgot the crux of the movie!

Even the Rakesh Vimmi relationship was dealt too fast and less passionately. A few kisses and dream sequences can’t really hit on a sizzle …now I realized. Good for Shaad, Rani and Abhishekh already share quite an onscreen chemistry, thanks to YUVA and the likes.

Nonetheless what pains me the most is such a waste of talent and energy! Super performances by Amitji (as usual!), Abhishekh (as usual) and Rani (as usual!). So there…great songs, great cinematography, costumes…and what not!

Only if the script was strong enough!
