Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body,

But rather to skid in sideways, Champagne in one hand, Strawberries in the other,screaming

WOOOO HOOOOO - What a Ride!!!

~~~~~~~
Around 5 months back, I was planning to buy a bike/bullet, and the deciding parameter was -- A GREAT DRIVING EXPERIENCE, and not a ''usual'' (read prosaic/boring..) one.
I have been driving my hero honda for the past 6 years and I was simply bored of it.. way too avuncular..way too boring..
I wanted something that has LIFE..a machine to fall in love with!!..
My choices were restricted to Karizma and Eliminator..! [since I was looking for high-end bikes]..
After driving a friend's Karizma for few hours, I felt the experience to be same as splendor..Except for the gizmos, there wasnt anything great...!! I am not saying its not a great bike, but there wasnt any YOOHOOOOOOO feeling!!..
It was okay, as long as you are driving someone else's Karizma..!! But definitely not worth buying!!..
Same with eliminator -- Bajaj was planning to phase out the bike and make it cost effective by using Pulsar engine -- I ditched the idea as I was looking for a more powerful engine, and not just a 180cc --so I 'eliminated' the bike from my wish list..
Moreover, the new Avenger seems to be Pulsar v 1.2..
While I was looking around, talking to friends, asking mouthshut members, carrying my due dilligence, a friend suggested me to try out ThunderBird..
I asked 'Royal Enfield? Hey, thats a milkman's bullet man!!..
OOPS....!! DUMBASS ME.
And thats for heavy guys?rgt? [I am definitely not on the 'heavy' side:)]
Then I thought, let me give it a try..whats the harm anyways??
WIth not so much of hope/enthusiasm, I went to the showroom and took the test ride.
And that was the beginning of our LOVE affair..
The experience was simply superb..way beyond description..I liked the way the huge beasty machine roared, the stability, and the road-control you have while driving..
If you are a road trotter, get a Bull.
You will love the fun of swishing on the highway, the stabillity at >110 kmph is unmatchable...and of course, the thumps will drive you crazy..
If you want some thrill in life. Get a Bull.
The Bull actually changed the way I understood life.. You won't take any shortcuts (like those kiddo bikewallas will do). You willl live with a Majestic feeling and will carry the same style/feeling even at your workplace..your home...
Enough said..let me see what are all the right reasons to OWN a bullet ::
If for you, driving means more than commuting,
If you know (or interested in knowing) what 'Thumping' means
Now, why you shouldn't buy it::
For all the reasons not mentioned above.. :)
If you are okay with your 'comfortable, yet boring' life..
If you are a kid and refuse to grow up..
My sincere advice to all those who 'crib' about bullets (size, maintenance..):
>> Owning a bullet definitely means maintaining it too!! Treat it the way you treat your
love. And the bull will reciprocate the same love.
>> Learn bullet-ing. Very often I have seen/heard people complaining/cribbing about bullets -- things like starting problem, mileage etc..
ITS ALL CRAP!.
You should know how to start a bullet. You should know when to use Decomp lever.
If you dont, ASK (before you come up with your verdict on bulls!!)
You can mail me, if you want -- but please DONT TALK BULL-SHIT!!
>> Like a KING wears the crown, you better wear helmet
To me, Driving my bull is like having an Orgasm--- journey is as FUN-DO!! as reaching the destination..
To all those who aren't driving Enfield::
Guys, wake up. Give your soul a chance to resonate with the bullet thump.
Drive a bullet atleast once in your life !!!
Ciao.Happy thumping.
