BRITISH AIRWAYS, a name that at the beginning itself gives you a feeling of a big brand name which has an international presence on a wide scale. Keeping such a stature in mind any organization of such a caliber always tries not only to keep up with its reputation but also to enhance its image further. Yes the BA is keeping up with its reputation but all for the wrong reasons.


Its not that I have travelled through this particular airline and so I have any grievances to share but it’s the experiences of others that made me write this review. As already reflected in some other related reviews, the discrimination towards a particular class of people is just common with the said airlines. Very recently one of my friend planned to go on a vacation to London. He got his tickets booked and on the D-day the person reported at the airport only to witness the worst shock of his life. While check – in he was flatly told that the said flight in which he was to travel was already full so his ticket was not valid any further and the airlines would try to arrange for his seat in some other flight. You can just imagine how embarrassed this gentleman would have felt at that moment of time. To add ghee to the fire, the concerned official of the BA had not even a single word of apology to say.


In one of the reviews it was very correctly written that your body colour plays a very important part while boarding the plane. Maybe a hangover of the pre – independence era of the British Raj. Remember “DOGS & INDIANS NOT ALLOWED”. Aap fair & lovely laga ke gore ho jayiye and see how the attitude and the total body language of the staff changes towards you. You are next to God for them. Jo kahoge ho jayaga mere aaka. But if your bad luck is very good and your complexion is anything except white even after a RIN ki dhulai, be prepared for an attitude where they will behave as if you are non – existent, they will take you for granted and above all the looks will be such that says, ''Jane Kahan – kahan se mooh utha ke chale aate hain plane mein baithnein ke liye!!” Be it on the ground or in air, the staff is always biased. The requests of some (read gore foreigners) is immediately catered and that too with a smile but for any Asian it’s a nightmare at certain times.


In today’s time of heavy competition and one – upmanship, can anybody afford to take the people for granted. Today we as a customer are really the kings and the BA should understand this reality. It’s for their good as everyday a new competitor is emerging in the market and such biased attitudes will prove detrimental to their long time interests. Its shear luck of the airlines that they still enjoys a loyal client/customers who go for them.


BRITISH AIRWAYS wake up, it’s still not late……………………….
