Reliable stalwart. Review on British Airways

Every time I fly I often choose British Airways (''BA''). The main reasons for this has been the price, timings, direct flights vs one with stops. The food, flight crew and in-flight entertainment feature little.

I like BA because for the routes that I regularly fly I have got the best deals on BA through various travel agents that I have used.

They tend to fly at convenient times for departure although their arrival times can be a bit odd.

As within the UK they have their own sections at airports the check-in is usually straight forward and quite quick.

Outside the Uk it largely depends on where you are but the check-in etc has been quite ok.

They are a punctual airline and are usually on time. They are occasionally early. The inflight staff are pleasant and they do their job well. I am not a very demanding passenger. I have seen them be rude to some indians but I have seen this across all airlines flying to and from India and the middle east. As passengers people from these regions have the worst reputation and I don't know how much this affects their attitude. I have never seen them be rude to anyone else who is not white so I don't think it is a purely racist attitude.

The inflight entertainment is ok. It is excellent on some sectors and pretty dire on others. The routes to India and the middle east are usually the worst. The facilities are also usually the dirtiest on these routes. I think that says more about the lack of consideration that many people living in these areas have for others rather than the airline. This can be seen across all airlines that fly this route not just BA.

The food is edible. They have nice selection of refreshments and will offer wine with your meal. They always have one vegetarian option in economy and if you require more specialist meals they will do so if you tell them in advance. The food is usually quite light and pleasant to taste.

I have had an upgrade once by sheer chance and I really enjoyed the service they provided in their business class. As an airline I would recommend them.
