I am shocked to read so many negative reviews about bluedart here, because my personal experience has been exactly opposite. I am a regular online shopper and buy 10-12 products online every month from sites like letsbuy, yebhi.com, infibeam, homeshop18 and ebay. I make it a point to check the courier service used by the online shopping store before buying. I generally buy only from those sites which use Bluedart. Without exaggerating I can say that I have bought about a 100 items online in the last 12 months and more than 80 of them were delivered through Bluedart. If I calculate the average time for delivery, I'd say it takes about 2.5 days for bluedart to deliver whereas for the rest of the couriers the average is about 11 days per shipment. DTDC is worst among them all.
As per my experience I can say that a courier company is as good or bad as the local franchisee of the company in your town/city. It is not important how big a name a company has, unless the local people sitting in your town are competitive. It takes almost same number of days for every courier company to send the item from the source city to the destination city. The variation of time depends upon the local staff who deliver. The whole logistics business and online commerce is suffering because of the incompetitive attitude of a handful of people sitting particularly in smaller towns. It is a shame that the higher management of these courier companies turn a deaf ear to the grievances of the customers. They should act fast and not hesitate from cancelling the franchisees with poor feedback.
But alll in all I would say DTDC is chalk and Bluedart is cheese for me.
