As a recent conver to BlackBerry, I am simpy amazed with the Push email tech, and wonder how I used to get work done earlier!! It makes working out of office so much easier and effecient As for the 8310 Curve, I was pleasantly surprised with how well RIM has combined the sturdiness and QWERTY of the 8700series with the multi-media functionality of a Pearl.
The QWERTY keyboard works very easily even with my big fingers and the track-ball is perfectly placed. The menu driven GUI is very responsive and smart. The GPS is great. I know, in India its not much of use; but if you travel to US/ UK often; just this GPS should make you buy this. In India, well download a good map software (google maps ) and it makes for good long hours of time pass!! As far as the multi-media is concerned, the new 3.5mm headphone jack is a brilliant addition. With my iPods earphones I get amazing sound quality. very clear; iPhones beware! The video is smooth, though a bit more pixlellation is needed.
Still for a smartphone it is very good The camera is good. 2megapix is handy if not great. It has a auto-flash; though I still cant get clear night pictures. On the flipside; the lack of wi-fi is frustrating. Esp. if you have a office full of ppl who have wi-fi phones. The software remains unchanged from the earlier RIM products; so adding a new number to an existing contact directly from log book is still frustrating! In a nutshell, I would reccomend this to anyone who is switching over to / upgrading their blackberry! One condition be prepared to get addicted to the push emails and RSS feeds!
