Sometimes there are certain albums that may not allow to shake your body,but they touch your heart so deeply that you are spechless and charmed by its tunes.Roast a toast to one of the most melodious and painful album of the decade.To convey the pain of a blind,muted girl is no easy fare.But thankfully,BHANSALI and Monty have mastered the art and have delivered that we couldnt have imagined of.

HAIN MAINE CHOOKAR DEKHA HAI:Comprising of 23 tracks in the album,but suprising there is one song and rest are all Background pieces.The lyrics(by prasoon joshi)are simply lyrical gems,every word of the song expresses the feelings of the MICHELL MCNALLY.Not only that it is also excellently sung(by Gayatri Iyer).The composition is though slow and soft,needs to be lauded.

MICHELLE THEME:Its very difficult to resist yourselves from this song.Composed excellently with an extensive usage of violin and vocal sounds,Michelle's theme creates an impact on your soul that will last for a long time.

DEBRAJ'S THEME:If you have a doubt that the album is only full of Violins and vocals,then let me clear this Doubt,it isnt.Debraj's theme is composed with utmost sentivity and it expresses the character(played by BIG B).Without a shred of doubt,Debraj's theme leaves a mark on mind.

SIGNS and THE BLUB IS DYING:These 2 themes are very special because they have amazing lines delivered by AMITABH BACHCHAN.Signs explains the various signs that debraj teaches michelle,where as The ''bulb is dying'' is about a bulb which is fading out.Signs is very situational type of theme and Blub is dying is more of Catchy type,but nevertheless both are first-rate.

MAMA I FAILED and THE COLOUR OF ACHIEVEMENT:MAMA I FAILED is a theme that explains the feelings of michelle when she tells her mom that she failed,it is very impressive and its Impossible for the listener to get this theme out of his/her mind.''THE COLOUR OF ACHIEVEMENT'' is yet another theme of which Monty can be proud of.It can says that Black is not Depression but it is THE COLOUR OF ACHIEVEMENT.

50 STEPS:In this theme,BIG B teaches the directions Rani to how to walk.Composed on the lines of 1920's,50 STEPS is very hep and Catchy,the usage of instruments needs to lauded.

On the whole,BLACK is not an album that will break records and will not fill the pockets of Music company but it does registers a strong Impact on the listener.It doesnt boast of some Item numbers but it has the power to attract Music fans and like me,after a point you will also ignore that whether it is Instrumental or Item number,because you will be spellbound by MONTY'S work.GO FOR IT!!!
