Even if you are not a fan of Bollywood, this movie is a must-see. Take Bollywood's finest actor and its current screen queen, give them their most challenging roles yet and what do get - BLACK.

The conventional Bollywood elements - no hero, no damsel, no love-at-first-sight romance and definitely no playback songs. (Ironically, the film has the most breathtaking musical score.)

While Amitabh looks recognisable as the alcoholic teacher, Debraj Sahai, Rani is not - sporting black contact lenses and makeup that deglams, she is hardly the heroine we are used to seeing. Her performance as Michelle McNally is arguably her best. With very little dialogue, she uses body expressions to execute a magnificent performance.

However, the show is really stolen by Ayesha Kapoor who plays young Michelle - such talent at such a young age - breathtaking. She's one to watch out for.

Although the movie is based on the American movie, The Miracle Worker, which tells the true story of Helen Keller, a woman left deaf and blind by illness in infancy, BLACK, the fact that this is a Bollywood makes it original. The feel to the movie is very real rather than the normally far-fetched escapism that dominates Bollywood.

Amazing performances by all actors in the movie and breathtaking cinematography and soundtrack. Definitely a movie to be enjoyed by all.
