I am thankful to Mr. Anil Ambani for this venture for providing quality entertainment to the movie buff like me. I have read many a times about SeventyMM and some other big movie libraries with lots of good facilities but they were providing their services mainly in big cities only. Bigflix has opened its
outlets in Indore also. I love watching movies and Bigflix gave me a great collection of movies of my choice. Bigflix is now one of the largest movies rental service in India. Like other ventures of Anil Ambani it is also promoted very nicely.
After signing contract with Hollywood's most successful movie director Steven Spielberg and buying Adlabs Anil Ambani has successfully stepped into the world of etertainment. Bigflix is also a part of that venture.
Altough Watching movies in a singleplex or a multiplex is both costly and time consuming. But we had no better choice to watch the latest movies there coz we don't like to go in single screen traditional cinema halls here in Indore with less facilities and cheap public all around. Hence we always thought its better to pay more in multiplexes to watch movies in theatres. We use to watch at least one or two latest movies in a month in multiplexes like Adlabs (now Big Cinemas), PVR, INOX, etc. The multiplexes run number of shows for only latest movies from the renowned production houses, moreover most of the multiplexes have now became the media partners for most of the production houses. And there are many good movies that do not get time slot in these multiplexes due to other movies. If these movies get a chance to run in any of these multiplexes the time of running is so odd that we cant't plan to watch the movie in that time slot. Recently it happened with Aamir which was a good movie. Hench to watch such good movies I have to bring CDs or DVDs from local video parlours and I have to pay then a lot for original CDs or DVDs of movies of my choice - Rs. 30-35 for an original DVD.
Incidentally we got a chance to visit BigFlix when we were waiting for a call for the availability of a table for dinner at U.S. Pizza. We have gone through their collection of movies and after knowing their services we liked their offer and subscribe for one month on trial basis. We have got discount of 40% on our subscription of one month by paying through ICICI bank credit card. We paid them around Rs. 580 for one month subscription which includes Rs. 400 as deposit which is refundable at the time of unsubscription. We got our first movie as 'Mithya' which I was planning to watch since a long time.
Their plan starts from Rs. 299 per month. And mostly they have a offer all the time. Currently they have an offer of 50% discount on all types of memberships which will cost only Rs. 5 per day. And if you got to watch 10 movies a month in this subscription, then its worth to pay this much to BigFlix.
After enjoying good movies for the whole month, we decided to extend our subscription for another 3 months. We have enjoyed around 35 movies so far in last three months. Most of the movies we ordered were very good except some of them like Tashan, Mission Istambul, etc. which I don't like and regret for my choice. I am sure anybody who likes to watch good movies would appreciate our list of movies watched so far through BigFlix -

Some Useful Facilities/Features
They have a great collection of movies, serials, epics, etc from both Bollywood and Hollywood at their stores.
They have a good pick-up and delivery service. We didn't have problem with their service so far.
You can change your contact number, delivery address as per your convenience.
You can take the DVDs while you travel to some city and enjoy the movie. And you can deposit those DVDs at their outlets in that city (obviously there must be some Bigflix outlets in that city also) and take other DVDs for your return journey, which you can deposit at the outlets in your city.
They have good website where you can manage your account sitting at your place. You need not to visit their outlet every time. Also you can order CDs or DVDs on your phone or mobile by using their customer care service. You can search for any movie in their database through this website and order. Although their website runs slowly may be due to heavy database queries.
You can get transfer your account to other cities at the time of relocation. Also you can enjoy movies while staying in other cities without relocation.
You can manage a queue with the movies of your choice on the basis of your priority. They suggest to manage at least 25 movies in the queue so that they can send the movies according to the queue and the availability at their store.
Also you can pause your subscription for certain period if you dont' wish to have their services for some reason. You can either deposit the disc with you at their outlet and ask the for pick up and pause your subscription.
Some Cons
Due to large waiting queues there is are less chances to get hit movies on time. We are waiting for 'Singh is King' and 'Bachna A Haseeno' since a month even if these movies are in top in my movie queue.
Friendly Suggestions
Don't visit their outlets with the small list of movies of your choice as they have very limited copies of movies at their outlets. Always try to place your order for the movie online or through telephone as they have more copies in their main store.
Just have a friendly discussion with the delivery boy and decide a suitable delivery time with him to cope up with the time issue.
Always check CD or DVD while getting the delivery, specially the right CD or DVd and also the scratches on them. I have seen an issue in their outlet when a guy was arguing with them for wrong delivery. And it happened with me once that their DVD didn't play in my player and any of systems.
There is always a rush for the latest arrivals. Hence always maintain your queue with sufficient number of movies of your choice so that they can deliver accordingly.
Thanks for reading...
