Located on the eastern side of Himalayas, Bhutan is one of the most beautiful country to be explored by people of India. Being a native of Assam which is well connected to Bhutan I had the opportunity to travel Bhutan twice on picnics with family. Bhutan is a land of happy civilians it is reflected from the ambience and behaviour of bhutanese people. They are very humble and friendly towards tourist. The currency of Bhutan is Ngultrum alomost similar in value to Indian currency. Bhutan is famous for fruits mostly oranges and apples. I remember bringing bundles of oranges from Bhutan at cheap prices. The capital of Bhutan is Thimphu with the nearest Airport in Paro lacated few hours from Thimphu. I have personally visited border towns of Bhutan such as Gelephu, Phuntsholing and Jaigaon. There are amazing tourist spots and monestaries in Bhutan and a short trip to Bhutan is a must for every Indian who enjoys travelling to hilly places.
