I was in two minds after getting some conflicting reviews on the movie bhool bhulaiya. But a big movie buff that I am, I thought I might as well give it a shot & boy oh boy did it manage to leave a mark. Well partly yes & partly no.
Do I need to mention that it is a remake of the malayalam movie "manichitra.whatever that name is"
Firstly it is a priyadarshan movie, so do not expect any serious cinema or any melodrama. But then again it is not a typical Priyadarshan "comedy" movie also. He has tried to make an assorted mix of suspense, comedy & thriller & partially burnt his hands in the process of doing so. Whether the movie is a suspense, thriller or a comedy flick itself is a suspense for you to figure out.
*Let me not dwell in to the story line as many of us are already aware of it & as far as characters are concerned here are a few something's on them:
Shiny Ahuja - Pretty consistent throughout the movie but definately could have been better.
Vidya Balan - This poor girl definately has much more to do in the movie then the role she played in heyy babyy. But does she meet the expectations. Sadly, no. Personally I feel she was much better in lage raho munnabhai where she played a chulbuli girl. She needs to do such roles coz she definately has the potential in her. All she needs is a right push in the right direction
Akshay Kumar - Has a good comic timing & manages to keep the movie going but then do we have a choice here when the movie itself has its own flaws.
Amisha patel - Total waste!(not gonna waste any words here).
Paresh Rawal - Has been partially wasted in the movie, remember his movie "hera pheri" where he was the centre of attraction. But still he manages to make you laugh in one or two scenes. Wouldnt have hurt if he had some more comic scenes as he is very gud at what he does.
Asrani **- hmmmmmm.
Rajpal Yadav** - Was he even there in the movie:P
As far as music is concerned, I loved the track "hare krishna, hare ram " by bombay vickings which is very peppy & the other romantic no "labon ko".
So in the end many of you might have some interesting opinions after watching this movie. Some might like it while others might not.
