From revenge saga to great historical film - 2015
Feb 29, 2016 11:50 AM 2950 Views

Bollywood comes with a whole number of almost 200 feature films every year. Some of them get noticed while some are dumped with the usual morning garbage into the bin. Amongst the numerous films made, very few are successful in leaving an impact on the audience even after months and years of their release date. This list, according to me, highlights some such Bollywood films that made an impact on 2015.

I am going to go down from the bottom five best movie to the best movie of 2015.

5.) Tanu Weds Manu Returns – It is believed that sequels are always a dangerous bet and quite naturally, it is very hard to live upto the expectation of the first movie which has been a major hit. But Tanu Weds Manu Returns was different. The sequel to the Tanu Weds Manu film on 2010 shows that no task is tough if done with dedication. It deals with the story of the couple after marriage – the indifferences, the misunderstandings and the final realization of love. The film garnered much praise prior to its release, thanks to its great directorial and Kangana Ranauts superb acting skills.

4.) Bajrangi Bhaijaan – How often do we find our otherwise Dabaang bhai in an avatar where he is ready to take in some puches and make people shed a few tears? After Tere Naam, it seemed like Salman had taken an oath to smash his villains to pulps and no matter what the number of them are, always emerge victorious without having a single scratch. However, this movie was different. A Pakistani child, an Indian guy and is pursuit to drop the lost child to its nation is too touching a story. Salman’s superior acting, Munni’s innocent face and ofcourse, a great script helped the movie gather some much needed claps.

3.) Drishyam – Suspense. Deception. Mystery. Everything that makes in for a great movie was stuffed into this one superb movie. Drishyam, starring two of the most talented actors of our industry, Ajay Devgan as a common man and Tabu as the police inspector, though didn’t set the box office on fire, was surely a worth watch for everyone. The movie is about a common man cum father’s effort to protect his daughter against the faulty murder of a corrupt and powerful man’s son. The entire movie is gonna keep you at the edge of the seat.

2.) Bajirao Mastani – Frankly speaking, I am not really a fan of Ranveer Singh, but when I saw this movie, I was like – Shit! He is awesome. Personally I believe these historical movies are the toughest of the kind to make and act because they involve a lot of preparation to dwell into the characters skin and accent. But Ranveer Singh does a great job and I was stunned by his performance. His role as Peshwa Bajirao, Deepika as Mastaani and Priyanka Chopra as Meera Bai is beyond praise.

1.) Badlapur – You guessed it, right? It had to be this. I mean how often does such movies hit the big screen. In my opinion, Badlapur is by far the best revenge movie ever made and of course, the best of Varun Dhawan. The movie about the revenge of a man for the death of his wife and child is just plainly exceptional. Varun Dhawan rocks. Nawazuddin Siddique as the antagonist is brilliant. The movie is the best movie of 2015 in my opinion and is a must watch for sure.
