My wife and I were recommended this place by a friend, and I must say this - I do not regret going to BBQ Nation (Thane) for one second. We got there at 7pm and were asked to wait till 7:30 (opening time). From the looks of it this place gets packed quite often - so bookings are recommended on weekends. Having said that, let me get to the really important part - the food.
The buffet BBQN serves is split into 3 essential courses. The appetizers, the main course and finally, the dessert. Of the 3 courses, I found the 1st and the last excellent. The main course was alright - but paled in comparison to the gorgeous appetizers and the desserts.
If you are vegetarian, this place probably isn't the best bet in town for you. I myself eat only sea-food, so the massive tandoori prawns more than compensated for all the chicken and mutton missed out.
The appetizers included alu mint kababs (good), BBQ cauliflower (no way!), 2 types of tandoori mushrooms (excellent, fresh), some paneer tikkas (alright) and the best of the lot - the BBQ prawns. My wife and I must have gone through 5 skewers of prawns (that's 20 of them). Any other restaurant - the prawns alone would have set us back by around 800 bucks easy.
And the guys serving the food kept coming back with more. Since we got in early, there wasn't much of a crowd and so we didnt have to wait long. However, on a packed weekend I assume you there could be delays. So my recco - go in early and go in hungry. Almost forgot - they also served some amazing garlic fish and a mildly-sweet paratha that melted in the mouth (according to my wife). I believe the grilled chicken and mutton was good too - but I didn't have any.
The main course was a rather run-of-the-mill affair. The salads were alright and the soups seemed a bit boring. I pretty regret eating the main course. Should've eaten more of the starters and saved more room for dessert. Dessert wasgulab jamuns, phirni (awesome), marble cakes, ice cream and a blueberry mousse (nice!).
All in all, the experience was brilliant! Good ambiance, excellent starters, an all-you-can-eat paradise and ofcourse, limitless dessert. The meal set the 2 of us back around 1200 bucks. However, considering that we ate some 800 rupees worth of prawns alone, this is an incredible steal.Highly recommended for people looking for a change from the same old Indian-Chinese-Continental routine.
