Family who-dun-it. Review on Banoo Main Teri Dulhann

I watch this serial regularly even though the story line could use some help with facts. Uneducated Vidya is married to the mentally handicapped heir Sagar. How she copes with the oppositions from the foster sisters led by Sindoora the eldest forms the main plot. What I find it hard to swallow are the property deals, taking Sagar to Singapore for treatment by uneducated Vidya etc. It takes too many liberties with the intelligence of viewers. The Sindoora's machinations in the Singapore incident are glossed over, and I could not really take it all in. A very weak plot sequence there. The obsession with killing her foster-brother for money seems OK. But to expect that her husband Aniket who came on earlier as a strong no-nonsense husband of Sindoora, a person whom she is afraid of, would forgive her completely after discovering her plotting is far fetched. Especially after several subsequent events that should have proved it to Aniket, who is shown as an intelligent man managing the family business and therefore in tune with things.

He is not be bunched with the rest of the stupid and juvenile clan, the fat stupid aunt, her child bride . The two sisters of Sindoora are also cast in this ineffective mode, except nowadays Mahua, one of the sisters have shown signs of life and a mind of her own. The really fat overbearing mother of the child wife of Sagar’s cousin, are not people who will be tolerated in families in real life. But is OK just to provide the comic relief.

Sindoora buying up 50% of the shares in the name of Aniket seems far-fetched. The story writer does not seem to know anything about finances. Where did she get so much money?

Of all the characters I like Kamya Punjabi(Sindoora) the best, for coming on as the epitome of an evil plotter. Her luscious lips add to the evil look.

But we could all do a little less of acting by the camera and the editor and the sound effects man. I find this in too many Hindi serials. Why do you want the camera man, the editor and the sound effects man to also act by their treatment of the sequences. Is it because you think that the editor and the sound effects man are better actors?
