I applied for Internet Banking. I was informed that I would be getting user id password within a week. It took over a month. That's still okay! For me what is totally unacceptable is that
The login details were sent by ordinary post(Rs 5 stamp)!
On top of this, in that single envelope they included all three things Login ID, Login Password and Transaction password.
If they would have told me such a practice before, I would have borne the courier charges and requested them to send it separately and not together ever!
Even the activation process was very brief, just basic info like date of birth and mobile was sufficient for the person at other end of the phone to enable net banking! Even my Account number was not asked!
On the other hand, once I urgently needed cheque book, I was informed that if it's urgent I shall get a general cheque book with only Acct Number(Not a personalized one with name etc that otherwise is sent by post to your address) and will have to wait for an hour or so.
I was fine with that and since I collected a general cheque book, I clarified them not to send me any personalized then. Later after two weeks the personalized was also received(this time by speed post borne by bank) at my home!
The bank staff seems to be doing a monotonous job without really understanding the criticality / priority and customer centricity.
