Nagarahole - Place to be in. Review on Bangalore

Hi Folks,

I am sure many guys from Bangalore/mysore/Chennai would have visited Nagarahole atleast a dozen times . I was kind of surprised that none have written a review on this ( I am sorry If I had missed that ) . Folks, my suggestion if you have not visited pack your baggage to visit at once. It is just an awesome place. You can live in a Jungle and relax as though you are relaxing at your home in city. I am talking about the Jungle lodges and resorts in Kabini. This well maintained and make sure you are choose a tent accomodation unless you have a baby less than a year old. The tent is good enough and spacious enough for a couple and a 3 year old kid along.

There are couple of packages available 2 days and 1 night and 3 days and 2 nights and the planning for the safari and all the jungle rides are different for the kind of package you choose and the JLR will organize the rides based on your schedule there. You just have to stick to their plan. They do it very nicely. The food is just awesome. Though there are not many choices but they make sure that the food is of good quality.

There are lot of hammocks around where you and your kid can just unwind and you don't hv to just go behind your kid. You can sit back watch them play and also tree houses where you are let your kid jump and do what ever they want. This gives ideal time to just leave them alone and you can save some time for yourselves .

The appoarch to the place is easy from Bangalore . Reach Mysore and before entering the city there is a outer ring road which takes you to the road that leads to HD Kote . You have to take that road to HD Kote and you will again reach an intersection near manathavadi you just have to go straight and you have lot of boards that lead to Jungle Lodges and Resorts. Last 25 to 30 KM stretch is a test for your car but then I have seen people working on the roads. Should be better by this time.

You will be taken in jungle on their jeep and you can easily spot deers/Elephants/Gaurs / Laguar Monkeys. We were lucky to spot a wild dog group and it was a great sight. The best season is somewhere between Sept to May.
