Bangalore is trying its best to stay the sleepy time it was before the ''foreigners'', came here to settle down and work for IT industry.

The city is absolutely callous in its attitude.

When I came here a year ago I was shocked to see the condition of the ''road'' called 80 feet road Koramangala. Wait...actually I was shocked when the auto driver told me that it has been this way for the last 2 YEARS. I thought, this fellow is exaggerating. But no, it has been exactly a year since, and the road still offers the same quality of service.

I have seen the govt. getting hammered by the industry on infrastructure, seen the govt. blaming the public works contractors, and then seen it about face and blame the industry of causing influx of people. Wow, a govt which says more salaried people who pay taxes, are bad for the city.

Law and order. Hmm...what did u say ?

I have read about new tricks of looting people.

  1. stop the vehicle using an auto

  2. stop the vehicle using a bike

  3. snatch the mobile/jewellery while on a bike

  4. throw chiili powder in the eyes

etc. Coupled with the usafe condition for the female population.

People in general are aggresive. They drive rash, and I am not even talking about the spoilt brats of the rich and ultra rich. The call center Qualis guys, autos, even the public bus drivers.

Here are the rules for you if u are a new driver in the city

  1. autos can turn anywhere, drive anywhere

  2. Buses can stop in the middle of the road

  3. At a traffic light:

green means go

yellow means go faster

red, means damn if u stop

  1. footpaths are for two wheelers, so pedestrians can go to hell

  2. if ur vehicle gets hit, just drive on. if u hit some other vehicle, evn though it might not be ur falut, drive away as fast as u can, else u will get thrashed by a crowd for not knowing the local language

Which brings us to Kannada. Now I have all the respect for the language. It is soft and melodious. Except that if the city wants to ever become a metropolis, it shud loosen up on this speak kannada or suffer attitude. Defacing sign boards in English, refusing to respond in hindi even though u know it etc.

Prices, through the roof. They think if you wear decent clothes, carry a mobile and speak English u earn in lakhs, so you shud not mind when they try to fleece you.

What even the local bus conductor does not give change back!!
