Guys the 180, You have to ride it to believe it.

The 180 is here to Stay. Some sheepish arses nowadays seem to be not taking a liking to the muscular 18 litre tank that characterises the Pulsar180.

Jeez!! See where India is headed to! A group of people brought up on the straight sharp edged designes of the earlier CD100`s and RX100`s got a sigh of relief and rejuvination when the Countured tank of the CBZ!!

But to make things bad again, the Dorks got a hang-over with it and now they find it hard to break-off the image. Cmon People!! Look up to the Bike fraternity at the International level. 18Litre Muscular tank is another first and is getting India to get a taste of International stds, but you guys just would`nt open up.!! Damn! what`s wrong with you??? Not every Bike with a Headlamp fairing is the best Looker...be open to the Naked retro look too!!

Anyway...that`s like biasing opinion.

As for the Bike...

Power:

Power is awesome at 15 horses and the delivery of the same is the star point!! Torque Spread of the Pulsars is something that helps them in scoring sometimes over someothers.

For Eg, the 150 Loses out to the CBZ in straight Line Drags but the generous and wide torque (Covering more shaded areas: Low/xtreme ends of the RPM Band) spread gives it much better In-Gear Roll-on times...

This I experienced first Hand, with a Frd on a CBZ by the Side.

Handling as expected...Hamara Bajaj!!

Lures you with the feeling of a much lighter and agile Bike like the RX or Splendors!! As against the Front-heavy cumbersome feel that the CBZ hogs!!

Discs are gr8...not grabby like CBZ and not ineffective like those on the RXZ. Bite into Tarmac and weight transfer is gentle and not like the Scary stunt pulled by CBZs.

Cornering is Good...bike always conveys a sense of being well-planted around corners. No Lateral Drift WhatSoever. Wet roads taken with ease by the Rubber. Handling is Sharp when compared to the Likes of CBZ which have to be anticipated in advance to fine-tune the eventual turn-in.

Suspension is comprehensively tuned for Indian Driving LifeStyle. Not too Soft-Suspened like the CBZ (which Spoils Handling as in Chicanes et all) and not hard ones like those on the RX series.

As for High-Speed Stability...Haven`t been able to check it out as most Pulsars are in the Run-In! Though the Double Down-Tube Chasis which incidentally does NOT use the Engine as a stressed member is faith-inspiring enuff, even before the Run-Ins and Top-end Whacks, which are expected to Furnish Top-ends to the Tune of 116 KMph`s. Making it a Damn Fast Set of Wheels. I have a RD350, Anyway :-)

Only Grudge is the Seating Ergos. Where the HandleBar-Seat-Footpeg position wears you off on long Trips.

The High-Revving Motor of the 180 is a vibration less Gem that has to be ridden to be experienced. The adrelalin rush should be a surprise to most CBZ, Fiero Riders....0 to 60 drags in under 5 Secs (4.9) put the Bajaj`s 4 Stroker amidst the league, dominance of which was enjoyed only by the Two-Stroke Smokers from Yamaha Till Now.

In-Fact The P180 OutClasses the RX135 14BHP in the Drags. Though this is more of a case of Personal ability rather than the Machine property.

Though wether it will be the same for Yam RX135 riders...will be a wild guess.

Coz the surge the 180 delivers is a Rush...

but it`s still not the jerky pull the 2 Strokes can Furnish...Blame it on the Power Curve.

As for ME....I can Advice you to Steer clear off the 150 and shoot for the 180..Power to the Max!!

Though..my Garage Houses a Ported 18BHP RX135...And a Ported 30BHP 1980 RD350 LTI , I still find the 180 fun to blast...need I say More!!

Hope this Helps.
