Raising hair on the arms,

Music of the 13.5 bhb beast in the ears,

Looks of the girls in the bus I was overtaking,

Contempt in the face of the 100cc wallahin the rear view mirrorwho jerked with my lion's roar(horn) ,

I am shivering because of the cool air,

My friend on the back seat is shivering because of the speed.

This is what I felt at 100 kmph in my last ride from Hyderabad to Nagarjunasagar when the dam gates opened because of floods.

20 months back I have written my first review on my unicorn, which was later grabbed by my brother, after two months of usage.

Now my pulsar 150 dtsi has done 15000 kms and I have done nearly 10 long trips. I do not mention the technical specs, u can find them at many places. I'll just give my experiences.

Power and Pickup

A very good bike to beat others at the traffic signals. The pull it gives at the ups on the road is amazing. The real place where u feel the power of pulsar is while overtaking any other vehicle on the road.Trust me guys u feel that u r leading the entire traffic. 5 seconds is the time that creats a gap of more than 100 meters between you and mob of 100cc guys.

But with a pillion the bike will become a little bit slow.

Mileage

I use Bharath Petrolium speed.

The average I am getting is 49 kmpl in the city.

In the long trips, If I ride continuously on 100 kmph, I got 34 kmpl. If I ride Continuously on

5000 rpm(economy zone) I got 66 kmpl.

Control and Handling

The 17" wheel on the back gives perfect control on the curves, the thicker rear tyre gives better breaking, never skids even on wet roads on the rainy days.

Shorter handle bar gives better control over the bike. Can really cut the traffic in the peak hours.

Breaks are really superb, in the trip I mentioned above I am nearing a village and I am little bit slow (on 60-65kmph) all of a sudden a pig came on the road, Just used both breaks and it stopped perfectly. Breaks are really excellent.

Reliability

Enduring two guys each weighing 80-90 kgs at 100 kmph, continuously for 40 kmph, what more can u expect from a bike.

Hyderabad roads will become a lake for a small rain also, while some guys are hesitating whether to cross the water pool, some guys are kicking the hell out of their halted 100ccs, pulsar can easily take you through that.

Comfort

The rear shockers are better than monoshock of unicorn.

No vibrations at any speed. Only a little awareness(assurance) of the moving parts in the engine.

Things I like

The trip meter is very useful in the long rides or to measure the mileage.

Bigger fuel tank, no need to fill too frequently.

Dual Horn, other may feel that some four wheeler is coming.

Bajaj service centers are very good in Hyderabad, good thing is they work on sundays also.

Twin pilot lamps on the head light, can be used early morning or while raining to give a good look to the bike.

Things I dont like

Side stand indicator is very sensitive and will break at the speed breakers if u r not careful.

Weight distribution is more towards the front, some times gives a feeling that the rear of the bike is not under control.

Things I do to keep my bike healthy

Only things I do is I service the bike every 2000kms, and replace the engine oil. Even though the manual says to topup the oil for 2500kms and replace after 5000 kms.
