I have been riding Bajaj Pulsar AS150 for 4 months(above 4400 kms) now. It is the best 150cc bike I have ridden in my whole life till now.

Lets start the review with What we first notice in a bike(Adventure).

  1. LOOKS - It is the best looking pulsar till now. It looks proportionate from any angle you see it. The half fairing does not look like a Slap on job, but, this alpha male styling just dissolves into the sporty chassis. The under belly exhaust just give this bike enough styling element. So 10 out of 10 for styling.(P.S. It looks damn sexy in RED). The new wind visor not only looks macho, but, it is functional as well, deflecting maximum of wind blast and making highway riding more comfortable at higher speeds.

  2. PERFORMANCE - The 150cc carburetor engine produces a mammoth 17ps of maximum power(which is 2 ps more than pulsar 150 and 4 ps more than Yamaha FZ V2.0) at 8000rpm, so, Faster Acceleration(0-60 in 4.2 sec) and higher top speed(115 kmph). The new 150cc DTS-i engine is Rev Happy and you will not feel any vibrations even at speed above 90kmph. Its just after 7000 rpm this bike comes into its own mettle. It really gets going after 7000 rpm(85kmph) Steam rolling anything in its path.

  3. FUEL EFFICIENCY - Still after making a whole lot of power(17 ps), the F.E. is on the higher side. After 2nd service by Bajaj, this bike is returning me a F.E. of 50 kmpl. I think at 50kmpl this bike is much better than a FZ, Fazer or a Suzuki(these bikes are also good 5000-10000(on road) costly than Pulsar AS150). [P.S. The fuel efficiency also depends on the way you ride]

  4. HANDLING & COMFORT - This bike is not a corner carver, but, will give you enough lean to enjoy twisties on a weekend. The seats are well cushioned and are   very comfortable for long riding. The seat height is on the higher side(805 mm), so if you are shorter than 5'5" then plzz think twice before buying this adventure.(I am 5'6"). The handle bars are upright so the sitting position is not aggressive giving you a comfortable seating position for long rides and daily commuting.

PROS

1) Looks

2) Fuel efficiency

3) Handling and comfort

4) Ground clearance

5) Features(Back-lit switches, Projector headlamp)

CONS

1) Build Quality

2) Braking

3) Engine heating

WHAT ELSE IS NEEDED

1) With so much of power it needs a rear disc brake.

2) At least an Oil Cooled engine.

3) The sixth gear should have been there.
