Bajaj 135 DTSI: The worst in Mileage

I was a happy user of Suzuki Samurai for about 8-9 years. Until I started feeling, the bike was old and its mileage of 45km/Ltr was not sufficient for my avg travel of about 40kms a day.  Having known from various users, that Pulsar 150 gives an avg mileage of 50-55km/ltr, I opted for a 135 CC discover, hoping for a better mileage. Atleast thats what the ad suggested, with all the Petrol bunk pipes trying to follow it. "Jadhooo"

I hadnt realised the meaning of the ad, till I made the mistake of buying the bike about a Year and half back. I was initially getting a mileage of 40Km/Ltr, and hoped it would give better after the initial services. but was absolutly wrong. I now get a mileage of about 45km for every Rs.100/- worth of fuel in Bangalore. Spending Rs.100/- everyday to feed my bike I understand the real meaning of the ad.... "We certainly would need several  Petrol bunk visits enroute to reach our destination"

I too expected a good suggestion from some "Dr. Bajaj" to get better performance. I had posted my query on their website. Over a year back... Am still waiting for their response..

I had checked with other users of the 135cc and got the same response from them too...

I was one of the initial owners of the 135 CC, when it launched, with the Big fat tyre etc...  Not sure if the company has reduced the tyre size, hoping for a lil more mileage in the newer models.
