I should have read vpadiyar review on Bajaj Alliance before adventuring into the "instant on-line policy"


I had a Bajaj Alliance motor insurance policy for my two wheeler. It was expiring on Feb-26-2010. I made a renewal payment using my credit card via bajajallianz.com/BagicCorp/index.jspThe website was okay for putting in information, but it appears that the payment gateway is not properly setup. So after a successful payment from my HDFC cc, when the page went back to bajaj alliance, a HTTP 500 error came. My credit card was debited of Rs 937. However, no sign of a transaction ID from Bajaj Alliance webpage.


I sent in an email, to the customer care. The response was prompt. however of no help or use. I kept calling Bajaj Alliance and kept asking them on my policy. After a lot of painful flight, I was able to get that they have acknowledged payment from me. This happened on Feb 21 and I was promised my motor insurance would be renewed.


Feb-26-2010, today as I am writing this review, there has been no signs on my renewal coming. I called up the customer care in the morning, and the reply was sweet - "We will surely issue the policy by 6 pm". The problem is that is the last time I talked to them. The helpline has a waiting time of 30 mins when I tried next. Not sure if they had flagged my mobile number. I tried from my office phone, that too was 30 mins waiting time to speak to the customer care.


It was so sad that despite making a payment on time and regularly following up on these folks, they did not understand that a customer had made a payment and waiting for the policy. I have not been able to understand that if they have got my payment, then why could they not issue/renew my policy. It is a renewal and not new issue that they needed documents. I anyway registered for a new policy on another company online. I hope to fight back for my Rs 937 for a chargeback.
