So then, one might wonder why the subject is soo special for this specific restaurant.Trust me, I am not being bias but it totally deserves it.What does one look for when they go out to eat? Good food, clean ambiance, good customer service. Azad Hind Dhaba has a number of outlets in kolkata but the one i'm writing my review on is located at KASBA near simens.The place is comparatively small but is more like a family restaurant which consist of and AC chamber as well.Over all for close to four years now I have been here a number of times for lunch and dinner and even just for evening tea at times with my friends.
Ambiance: - Decorated with simple steel chairs which is properly coushned and glass tables.The restaurant has an AC and a NON AC chamber, the one which has AC consist of 6-8 tables.The AC works really well even on a hot sultry summer day and the place has enough space for one to have privacy.The non AC section has 5-6 tables but the chairs and tables are still the same.The floor is cleant on a regular basis and being a dhaba at times the non ac section the floors might be dirty.Ample car and bike parking space as well.
Customer service: - The waiters and the staff working here are all helpful, polite and friendly.Most of them have memorized the menu just like how they show in movies and they would be the best poeple to ask for when in doubt what to eat.The service is really quick, regardless of how crowded the place is the order will be in you're table within 15-20 minutes to the max.
Food: - The food being served here is mainly Indian and Mughalai.For starters one can order their kababs which is a wide spread of juicy tender mutton seik kabab, harliyali kabab, tandoori chicken, mutton tikka.For the main corse one can choose from Mutton, chicken or paneer.Yes the quantity is low so do ask the waiter before ordering.The rice out here is really delicious, my personal favorite being Keema rice and peas pulao.The mutton keema is a bit oily but would taste fantastic with tandoori roti or jeera rice.Do not order deserts as it does not make sense.They will serve you regular Kwality CUP ice creams so you will end up paying RS.50 for something worth Rs.20., better go out take a left and buy it from the variety store. Drawback:- If you specially come for a takeaway then trust me you will be really late coz off the book the restaurant believes in serving the seated customers first on a crowded day, speaking from personal experience.And yes the timing for tea is from 7am - 1 pm and 4pm-7pm, no tea after 7.
