Until recently I mainly turned to homeopathy for most ailments but, as we’ve been shifting too often and it’s hard to find a good homeopath, I began to try out Ayurveda for my chronic stomach condition. Over the course of a couple of years, I’ve noticed that I’m better. I’m always curious to know more about the medicines I take. Also, I’ve begun to take a great interest in home remedies and healing herbs. A sign of old age?
So, when I found this book, I was very excited. It is a very thorough look at the famous Indian healing herbs like Amla and Ashwagandha and so many others.
These days, the word anti-aging is on everyone's lips. From cosmetics to supplements, we all look for something to fight the free radicals and keep us youthful, hale and hearty.
The book has three parts. The first discusses how various body organs are affected by ageing. The second tells us what is essential for healthy ageing, and what is not. In the last part, we are exposed to a detailed analysis of eight ayurvedic herbs, whose value is being proved by scientific research and how they work against age-related diseases and handicaps.
The book is organised as follows:
