Me being a lipstick freak, have almost all the shades available in Avon.I like it the best. The marketing strategy that this company is amazing. First of all, they market this product through Multi Level Marketing. Off late the network of Avon has so widely spread that every second person has the distributorship. This makes the availability of the product very easy. The product is delivered to the customer at the beck and call.
But this has one disadvantage too. We cannot test the shades. The shades that are shown in the catalogue and that of the actual ones are totally different. One might get the wrong shade. So it is always better to at least have a look on the shades that you are going to buy or if you distributor a good judge for you,then ask her to describe it for you.
Secondly, Avon keeps having schemes such as buy 1 get 1 free or some discounts in some or all the products. This increases the sale of the products and also helps to attract customers.
The most amazing product of Avon is their lipsticks. The shades are amazing. They have a category called Color rich renewable and the other one is Matt lipstickk. These are the best and the most economical of them all. I ve almost all the colors available. These lipsticks are available in 2.5gms. This helps us have a variety of colors as we can buy more as these are not very expensive. I am not aware of the other products. Ya I like the Blackest Black Eyeliner. This is the best waterproof eyeliner ever used. It has a matte finish and at the same time is waterproof. You actually have to wash your eyes with soap to make sure that the eyeliner is removed. And there wont be any cracks even if you are on with it all through the day.
Me having a wheatish complexion, prefer pink based colors lots. Some of my favourite colors are as follows:
Twig: A pink color which gives a very light shade. This is the perfect office wear. This would go very well with a black business suit or a pink sweater. I use this the most for office.
Cranberry: This is a very dark shade and is a mixture of pink and red. This shade cant be worn just like that and has to be merged with some base to make it give a subtle look. Well this color would go well without merging on a newly married fair female, who is expected to dress garish.
Dusky Woods: This is a very dark brown color and can be worn as an outliner to a beige color. Or it can be merged with Tea Berry which is a very light peachish color. So for a nice peach shade, it can be merged with Dusky woods.
Cocoa dreams: This shade is the perfect brown. Would go best with a beige or a brown outfit.
Butterscotch:A very nice dark color which is a mixture of pink and brown. This would look best with a light pastel blue or a grey color.
The best part of the above mentioned colors are that the coverage of these shades is so good. The textures of these lipsticks are amazing. Soft and creamy, but yet a mattish look.
Movette: Don’t go by the name. Its nowhere near to mauve. It is a dark maroon shade, which gives a look of wine. But ths color doesn’t look that dark as it is very creamy and soft. Suitable for winters.
Choclate fling: This is a frosted beige shade.Somehow feel that frosts doesn’t suit me that well.But one can try it with a proper outlining.Not a contrast outline which would be too distinct and visible.Even outline should be hidden and properly defined.
Maple: This is a beige matt shade. But this shade would again be good for a fair skin.
Icing: This is from the double impact range which was introduced a couple of months back.This shade is frosted light pink.But again,Frosts suits very few people. This shade looks out of the world on a fair complexion. Even I end up wearing this shade with a proper outlining.
All I am looking for now is the perfect lilac color. I don’t want frosted ones. I am not getting the right shade in Avon.I might check it up in some other brand too, but it is very difficult to find the color. People, do let me know if you have any clue about the brand I should go in for.
