This is a good phone within the budget range. The processor is no doubt good and so is the screen clarity(402 ppi). Dual cameras, finger print scanner, 18:9 screen ratio, 5000 mah monster battery. all looks good. Price is also very competitive. All these paint a very super duper impression. Yes definitely these are notable points but this one too has its weak points.
1) Heavy. With 5000 mah battery it is definitely slightly heavy.
2) Under utilized rear camera. The rear camera can produce excellent photos if they can tweak it. Google pixel camera apk installed in this phone produced some exceptional good photos. No comparison with the stock camera at all.
3) Notification LED cannot be controlled. You cannot control the color of the LED. For eg. green for missed calls, yellow for text sms etc.
4) No fast charging. From 0 to 100% charging, it takes 3 hours. Maybe they will introduce the fast charging in the next update? Need to see.
5) In order not to affect the performance of the phone they had given the stock android. But they could have tweaked the apps slightly. For example the Contacts app, cannot show only the SIM contacts. The phone dialer opens the recent calls rather than opening the number dial pad. I still do not understand the logic behind opening the recent calls instead of the dial pad.
6) You cannot custom sort your apps as you wish in the launcher. They are sorted alphabetically only.
7) No earphones bundled.
Above all a decent purchase if you are only a basic user, but if you care for every detail and perfections even in the pre- installed apps, then look at Mi phones in similar budget as their default apps are also very customized.
Can play light to moderate games but not very heavy ones.
Sound volume levels are very good. Will definitely enjoy the movie watching experience.
Battery backup highly depends on usage patterns. If you are strictly a basic user with calls and messages and a few Youtube videos on 3G/Wifi you will definitely get 2+ days. 4G and VoLTE calls will decrease the battery backup.
For screen protection, do not use tempered glass as this phone's display is curved and hence you will get gap across all the borders between the phone screen and the tempered glass. Rely on the old plastic film based screen protectors.
Considering the weaknesses, it got 3 stars. No fast charging for a 5000 mah huge battery is a big minus.
