Hello Everyone!
I bought Zenfone 6 around 5 months ago. It is dual sim, 2GB ram, 16GB internal memory, 13MP main camera and 2MP front camera.
After using it for 5 months, I can surely claim that it was a wise decision to buy this phone.
Here is why I say so.
Battery
Battery is 3300mah its too useful in the world of android, 3G, WhatsApp and Facebook etc. For moderate use it lasts atleast for 36 hours. Phone charges back to 90% from 40% in 2 hours maximum, pretty quick. Though it takes long time to reach to 100% from 90%. Which I never bother to. In my moderate usage, on routine days I get around 150 minutes of talk time and out of which 2 hours are from one single long conference call. 2 hour's call consumes 8% to 10% battery. and at the end of the day my batter is more than 60% available.
Performance
Processor is quick, performs all tasks smoothly and hassle free. 2GB ram ensures you never run out of memory and inbuilt memory cleaner is very handy. Games and apps work very efficiently. Battery heats up a little when you play game or watch video for more than 30 minutes. I guess this issue is with all the phones we have in market today.
Memory & Storage
It has 16 GB internal and around 2.5GB is system reserve, so you get good 13GB for your consumption. Secondly, it supports SD card upto 128GB. I have installed 32GB and thats more than sufficient I guess.
Display
Display is clear and sharp. Watching videos and photos is fun on this display. It doesnot stresses your eyes. Keep display brightness to auto and it optimizes the battery usage as well. Gorrilla corning glass is a charm. Add lot of strength to the set. Touch screen is also very responsive. Watching videos / movies is charm on this phone. Colors are well saturated and images are very pleasant to eyes.
Camera - Photos & Video
13 MP main camera is beauty to use. Its built in modes enable you to take good pictures. Videos are full HD and really clean and sharp. Built in image stabilization works great while shooting videos. Front 2MP is just OK for clicking selfies. Some main 13MP camera features like selfie mode allows you to set number faces to detect. And as soon as all faces are in center of composition, it clicks 3 photos and you can choose 1 good copy from 3 and save. Other features like panosphere, panorama, HDR, low light, night, low depth of field are excellent to use and give good results. I am a photographer by qualification, so was having great expectations from camera and all got fulfilled. Ofcourse, being a photographer, I cant expect DSLR picture quality from mobile camera.
Some inbuilt features to highlight
Memory cleaner - it shows how much RAM is free and in a single click it frees a lots of RAM.
Power Management - Its another very useful and interesting feature which allows you to set different level of screen brightness while doing various activities. Such as watching video auto set at 100%, watching photos 100%, reading emails 40% brightness, while using camera set 100%, and may more such options saves lot of battery.
Geo Tagging - When you click photos, normally all mobile cameras save it geo coordinates with the photo, but this camera shows small MAP and location on map, you click that map and it directly takes you to directions to that location, quite useful. You just click a photo of some location and next time that photograph will show you the directions.
ZenLink tools - PC link, share link, etc are useful tools to share data with other devices or replicating the display
Build Quality, Size and handling
Its 6 inches screen, little big to handle but its just matter of getting used to it. It also has a feature of single hand operation and that's useful too. Build quality is quite sturdy and can take rough usage easily. Grip is good
Voice & Sound Quality
It has noise cancelling microphone so person receiving call from you hears very less of background noise from your side. Earpiece volume is little low, no issues while indoors or in moderate noise but some issue while in traffic or noisy area. Speaker phone too need some bigger output.
Overall
Its a great phone in given price range. 16K is very reasonable and against that money this phone offers much more value. Similarly Zenfone 5 is also equally configured phone at price 11K or so. I am extremely happy with this phone and not faced a single issue as of today with this.
Only couple of cons.
1. Main Camera's glass is flush to plastic body and causes lots of scratches to bottom half part of glass. Asus should put some thick border around camera, its a design flaw. I do not use any cover so my camera's front glass has got lots of scratches in the bottom half area and started causing to blur(very little though) the photos in bottom half(Photo is attached with this review)
2. Earpiece and Speaker phone lacks enough loudness
But overall its a good phone and I recommend this phone for people who are looking for highly configured but budget phone.Enjoy!
