I alongwith my college friends visited this area during our NE India Tour in March 2008. We stayed at Lampokhari Village Resort for 2 days to feel the beauty of the place. It is good destination for nature lovers. We started our visit to Parbateyswar Shivalaya Mandir is dedicated to the Hindu Lord Shiva. There is a tradition of offering water to the idol of Lord Shiva here in this temple. We then visited Aritar Gumpa which is the oldest monasteries in Sikkim and is famous for its beautifully carved traditional architecture. After that we visited Kali Khola Falls is also known as the Lonely Falls which is around 100 m of height and found it very beautiful. We also visited Dak Bunglow which is an old British built bunglow built in 1895. Next day we visited Lampokhari Lake is among the oldest natural lakes of Sikkim. It is in shape of human foot and is located at a height of around 1400 m. It is surrounded by dense forests. We enjoyed boating alongwith the perfect view.
I will once again make plans for visiting Aritar this year.
