Is there anyone who does not like Archie Comics ? Its a accessory of every growing kid.
Archie comics are readable by everyone. It provides entertainment and fun. I remember being addicted to these comics and even now I dont miss a chance to read these comics when I can get hold of them.
You can introduce these comics to your kid when they are 12 to 13 years old. You would be giving a great gift. The best thing about these comics are that the kids acquire a sense of humor and they will know how to laugh.
These comics are a great read for someone who is sick in the bed or if you are travelling. Reading small letters while travelling in a bus or a train is not healthy.. so you can opt for these comics which are very well illustrated and dont strain your eyes.
The concept is set in a small town called Riverdale, USA. The culture is definitely American but it will not fail to entertain you ...
Archie comics have some interesting additions, like Katy Keene, Sabrina the Teenage witch, Little Archie, Josie and teh Pussy cats,etc.
Archie's world comprises of Archie ( a typical boy next door who is a typical teenager .. likes girls and having fun..)and his friends... Jughead ( who is an ace foodie.. he loves food to infinity and can eat anything.. he is Archie's best friend... and hates girls..),Big Ethel ( Jughead's gal who is eternally running after Juggie and trying to convince him to like her ), Moose ( the famous DUH guy who is dumber than the dumbest... He is a huge muscular guy who has lot of brawns but absolutely no brains ), Midge ( Moose's girlfriend ),Reggie ( the guy who gives a new definition to vanity.. he is always after Midge and gets boxed by Moose... it never stops ), Dilton ( the super intelligent guy who can create interesting gizmos and robots.. he and Moose are bets friends), Mr Weatherbee ( the Riverdale school principal... Archie is his nemesis) and last but not the least Betty and Veronica ( Betty is romantic and is eternally in love with Archie... Veronica is a richest gal in Riverdale and who also loves Archie... Both the gals are eternally competing with each other for Archie but they never forget that they are the best of friends...)
There are a lot more characters in Archie's world.. Mr Lodge ( Veronica's father), Archie's parents, Betty's parents, Svenson ( the school janitor with a funny accent), Mr Flutesnoot ( the professor) Archie's Baseball Coach, etc etc ....
Well you have got a brief introduction to Archie and his world.. You must try and get involved with the everyone's crazy and humorous antics... it will never fail to make you smile....

The one and only disadvantage of these comics is that the comics are very expensive in India so try and get hold of them from the libraries...
